We are looking to appoint a Creative Network Manager to take responsibility for the development of new Creative Wakefield Network and coordination of sector specific business support offer.
The district of Wakefield has a proud history of creativity. We have world-class cultural destinations, with expanding visitor and business activities; inclusive incubation space and commercial support for creatives and strong performing arts sector. This is combined with vibrant growth in the creative sector and IP rich gaming and digital companies.
Wakefield Council was successful in securing a grant from DCMS’ Cultural Development Fund. Our programme, entitled Creative Industries Growth Platform: WX3, will create an industry-led ecosystem to increase aspirations, skills, enterprise development and employment across the district. The Creative Wakefield Network will meld a partnership of creative businesses, cultural organisations and skills providers. It will facilitate cross disciplinary working, connecting creative industries with digital, gaming, music and other cultural institutions; sparking collaboration and innovation across the district and beyond.
Working with the WX3 Programme Manager, the Creative Network Manager will take responsibility for the development of the Network. You will ensure that the breadth of culture and creative industry partners are engaged in the Network and that it is connected with wider regional and local structures. You will work closely with Council’s internal services as well as regional and national organisations to coordinate development and delivery of sector specific business support and skills development programmes.
