Exciting opportunity – 2 Part Time Residential Workers needed for a newly opened children’s home!
Wakefield is ambitious for children and have adopted an innovative approach throughout its residential model.
Many children are misplaced into children’s homes due to a national shortage of foster placements for children. The result of this leads to young people who are most vulnerable being placed a long way from home and not always achieving the best outcomes.
To support this, we are now seeking to appoint suitably skilled, qualified and motivation Residential Workers to work alongside Management team with a focus on returning children to stable foster placements. Children within the foster hub home will be aged 10 – 15 years old.
An excellent understanding of the needs of children in care, with a clear ambition to provide outstanding services for the children we look after is required. We will provide you with excellent supervision, appraisal, on – going training and support in obtaining your management qualification awards.
This post requires an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with good communication skills. You will need to be organised and confident in interactions with children and young people.
Previous experience of trauma informed practices, therapeutic caring and connective parenting are desirable although full training will be provided. It is essential that you are kind, caring, patient, resilient and can see the need behind behaviours.
You should be committed to improving the life chances of the children and young people and share our ethos of never giving up and a full team around the child approach.
