PHPRU EYAC provides high quality assessment and teaching of young children with complex special educational needs, from the age of 2 years, to enable their next educational placement to be appropriate.

The Management Committee of PHPRU are seeking to appoint a part time, temporary Teaching Assistant to join the existing team from October 2025. They will be committed to, and enthusiastic about, early intervention and maximising individual potential. This post also involves working alongside a range of professionals and therefore, requires someone with an outgoing personality, a positive outlook on life and a willingness to undertake a range of tasks.

The successful candidate will have experience of working with children, with a range of abilities/medical needs, from lower foundation stage and be prepared to develop expertise in ASD/SLCN/PD.

We are looking for someone:

• To help deliver an appropriate and outstanding curriculum
• To support young children aged 2 years who have complex special educational and complex medical needs
• To support the development of EYAC provision with particular reference to young children with Speech & Language Communication (SLC) Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Multi-sensory impairment (MSI) and Physical Difficulty (PD)
• To promote and support the achievement of all children through work with officers, agencies, schools, families and children where ASD, SLCN and/or PD is a factor
• To support assessment within the provision
• To participate as a team member in the operation, promotion, evaluation and development of the Early Years Assessment Centre
• To be an outstanding practitioner who provides stimulating learning opportunities and enjoys working with young children
