We are looking to recruit an ambitious person who is interested in furthering their career in local authority Building Control.
We are looking for a senior building control surveyor to help us to deliver a high quality Building Control service.
The ideal candidate will have a proven recent track record and an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of Building Control and allied legislation with excellent communication and organisational skills. You will be proactive and enthusiastic, be able to plan and coordinate a wide range of short, medium and long term tasks and be able to manage a busy case load.
You will have a positive attitude to team working and training, be customer focused and business oriented.
The main responsibilities of the post will be plan vetting and site inspections of building work in relation to all types of buildings but in particular more complex buildings, enforcement, dangerous structures and demolitions. An awareness of safety at sports grounds legislation would be desirable. Good IT skills, accurate record keeping and effective communication skills are essential requirements. A full, clean driving license and use of a car is also essential for business purposes.
The role offers a full range of local government terms and conditions including flexible working, pension and access to further qualifications based training funded by from the Council's Apprenticeship Levy.
