We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a Council grade 9 engineer to join our wheelchair services department in Wakefield. You will be working from our service centre and the successful applicant will provide engineering input to the delivery of wheelchair, seating systems and associated assistive technology based on the specific needs of the client and their environment. A driving license and an access to a vehicle is Essential as the job requires travel throughout the area.
Who we are looking for:
You should own an honours degree in engineering/applied sciences, have demonstrable experience and proven knowledge of the industry/healthcare. Prior experience through placements in engineering is desirable. In addition to your qualifications and experience, you will provide expert opinion, based on advanced engineering knowledge in the areas of complex special seating, wheeled mobility and pressure care for a wide range of clinical conditions. You will also be required to provide an innovative solutions to meet the needs of clients when no ‘‘off the shelf’’ solutions exist. You need to have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to deal empathetically with service users, relative, carer’s and multidisciplinary teams.
