An opportunity exists in the Council’s Street Scene Services for a Senior Arboricultural Officer to work within the Councils Ash Dieback Team.
The officer will carry out on-site surveys and tree inspections to determine the condition, number and maintenance requirement of trees within the ownership of the Council, and when requested by other Departments, Service Units, partners or individuals to quantify the arboricultural maintenance required to ensure tree safety.
Provide a professional Arboricultural surveying service when required for all Council Clients, partners, individuals, Community Groups and other organisational bodies outside the Council on a recharge basis.
You will undertake a range of Arboricultural and Forestry Estate duties in a flexible manner, providing a citizen focused service which delivers safer and stronger communities by improving environmental quality and increasing the sense of community pride in neighbourhoods.
To supervise Arborists and other Street Scene Service employees undertaking related activities to support the effective delivery of services.
To deliver a high quality, continually improving Arboricultural service as part of an integrated Street Scene Service.
To work effectively with the Arboricultural Operational Officer to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of services and good working relationships across the Council.
To assist the Arboricultural Operational Officer for Arboricultural Maintenance Services throughout the District, in accordance with the Wakefield District’s strategic priorities.
To deliver front-line, Arboricultural services, forestry, estate and grounds maintenance in an effective and efficient manner so that it achieves service area and council objectives, across the District.
You will ensure that the departmental services are provided to the highest quality/standard with due recognition of client and customer requirements, in accordance with the Council’s Customer Care and Equal Opportunities policies.
You will work within recognised safe systems and in accordance with all aspects of health and safety legislation at all times.
