The effective role of Assessment Report Officer enables team members within SENART meet statutory requirements, deliver high-quality EHCPs, and support positive outcomes for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.The ARO is the first person in contact with families, service users, and relevant agencies to keep them informed of assessment outcomes and any required next steps. The successful candidate will support to fulfil the LA's statutory responsibilities around compiling and drafting assessment reports, ensuring all statutory requirements are met, and maintaining accurate records for each case. SENART works closely with educational stakeholders including, social care, education and healthcare professionals to gather and assess the information needed for reports. As first point of contact, the ARO will review and assess the information coming in and directly communicate with parents, carers and all individuals involved in the EHCP process.Key duties include, collating and recording information for initial assessments, as well as arrange and ensure all paperwork is set up for Annual Reviews, they will also ensure these are conducted within statutory timeframes. This adherence to deadlines is essential to ensure that children with special educational needs receive timely support.
